What is the best way to get to Trinchera Ranch?

How can I access Trinchera Ranch from the nearest airports?
✕The closest airport is San Luis Valley Regional (35 miles), which offers a daily nonstop flight from Denver via Denver Air as well as FBO service for private aircrafts. Additional nearby airports include Taos Regional (70 miles) in New Mexico and Pueblo Memorial (90 miles) in Colorado. Denver International and Albuquerque International are approximately 200 miles away.
Is transportation provided to and from the airport?
✕Transportation from the airport is not included in the rates. We can assist you in making arrangements for your convenience.
How long is the journey to Trinchera Ranch?
✕Trinchera Ranch is a 35-minute drive from the San Luis Valley Regional Airport, a 1.5-hour drive from Taos Regional Airport and a 4-hour drive from Denver & Albuquerque Airports.
What should I pack for my stay at Trinchera Ranch?
✕We recommend packing comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities, as well as any personal items you may need. Don’t forget your camera for capturing the surrounding wildnerness and scenery.
How far in advance should I book my stay at Trinchera Ranch?

✕We have a minimum three-night stay at Trinchera Ranch.
What is the altitude and how should I prepare for it?
✕Elevation across the ranch’s 172,000 acres ranges from approximtely 7,500 feet above sea level along the San Luis Valley floor to 14,345 feet at the top of Blanca Peak.

✕Yes, we are open all year long.
What is the best time of year to travel to Trinchera Ranch?
✕Anytime! At Trinchera Ranch, we ensure that all year long is a good time to visit. It really just depends on the experience you’re looking for, as the warmer months offer hiking, biking, and fly fishing, while the colder months offer activities like showshoeing and cross-country skiing. Of course, bird watching, stargazing, wildlife observation, photography workshops, and tours and excursions are offered year-round.
Are there set times for meals?
✕Meal times are very flexible, but a regular schedule is as follows:
• Breakfast: 7am – 10am
• Lunch: 12pm – 3pm
• Dinner: 6.30pm – 9.30pm
Is Trinchera ranch family-friendly?
✕Yes, we are a family-friendly destination, though we offer a suggestion of caution and safety, as the surrounding terrain and how you explore it is at your discretion. Contact us to discuss specific age groups.

What are the dining options at Trinchera Ranch?
✕Family style and plated meals are typically served in a large dining room or patio with panoramic views of Trinchera Peak. Chef Bea’s cuisine can be defined as refined mountain fare, relying heavily on the land and seasonality for inspiration. Many ingredients grown in Trinchera’s kitchen garden or sourced on property, including ranch-produced honey, and local San Luis Valley farms. During your stay, your menu can be made exactly as you like. All preferences and dietary restrictions are accommodated.

Is there a dress code at Trinchera Ranch?
✕There is no specific dress code at the ranch. We encourage guests to dress comfortably for the activities they plan to participate in.
Will I have wifi and cell phone service?
✕Yes, the Main Lodge’s common areas and guest rooms enjoy strong Wi-Fi. However, cell service can be intermittent.
What is the laundry service like at Trinchera Ranch?
✕Laundry service is available upon request, so you can enjoy fresh, clean clothes for your outdoor adventures. Please note that dry cleaning services are not available at the Ranch.

Do any activities need to be booked before arrival?
✕While it’s not imperative to book activities beforehand, we request you speak with our team to plan a custom itinerary for your stay. The best experiences with us are based on a discussion we have with you before your arrival.
Are nature experiences guided?
✕Yes, our nature experiences are guided by expert naturalists who are able to tailor an itinerary that exceeds your expectations.
Are spa treatments included in rates?
✕No, spa treatments are not included in booking rates.
Do I need to bring my own equipment?
✕No, all the equipment you’ll need for on-site and local experiences are provided in their entirety. However, you are more than welcome to bring your own equipment if preferred.
Health & Emergencies
Do you have any medical facilities on the ground in cases of emergencies?
✕We do not have specific medical facilities at Trinchera Ranch, but our wilderness staff are first-aid trained and our consulting doctor is one hour away. Safety and emergency protocols are in place.
Where is the nearest hospital?
✕Alamosa is a 35-minute drive west via Route 160.
Rates, Payment, & Gratuity
What is the policy on gratuity at Trinchera Ranch?
✕An 18% gratuity will be added to acknowledge our dedicated team members who ensure your stay is remarkable in every way.
Are there any taxes or fees I should be aware of?
✕A 6.9% state and county tax will be applied to your total bill.
